Bridal

This is the week of bridals! Yesterday I shot my first EVER bridal shots! It was a lot of fun. I have to admit, I didn't really know what I was doing, but there's a first time for everything right? Lauren Holland was my first 'victim' and she looked SPECTACULAR! I started to upload her pictures to my flickr account but then I thought, "OH NO! I can't upload them yet! No one can see her in her wedding dress!" Like I said, I'm totally new at this but it's fun learning new poses and positions for shots. Who knows if this will ever be a career for me. (I seriously doubt it.) For me, I'm just having fun! I am thankful for friends who let me get some good shooting experience.

Tomorrow I get MY bridal shots taken. Can't wait! 50 days til we get married.

57 days

Well, it's getting closer to the big day. Things are moving right along as far as wedding plans go. We had our first shower a couple of weeks ago in Rison, Arkansas where Brent is from. There were 17, yes I said SEVENTEEN hostesses at this shower. They were all ladies in his church. The decorations, food, and gifts were all just perfect. This was our first shower so I made Buie go with me just so he would get the idea of what goes on at these sort of events. He didn't mind. (not that much anyway). I've never really been a big fan of showers, teas, brunches, and girlie things of the sort and I never really knew why. Perhaps it was because I went to so many growing up that I think I should just rebel against them now. Or perhaps I think it is secretly just another way women try to out do each other. You know we're malicious like that.

This wedding season for me, I'm trying to be more appreciative of the people that truley love and care about us enough to throw us a shower. Obviously the idea of a shower is to "shower" the couple with gifts and that they did. We received so many gifts we had to rent a storage room just to keep them all! Thank you to our family and friends who have been showering us with love and support all of our lives and especially during this time in our lives.
